Revised for 2002-2003 GENERAL All shooting to be governed by NSRA/UIT rules. All queries to be decided by at least 3 members of the Competition Committee. Minimum qualification for entry for all competitions is that all shooters must be signed off to shoot in that particular calibre. For some competitions, a club average is needed. COMPETITION COMMITTEE Stats. Officer, Rifle Captain, and any other Committee member who may from time to time be co-opted. Decision of Committee to be final.
Subject to the following exception, the Club Competitions are subject to an entry fee as posted per competition. For 2003/04 this will be £2. There is no entry fee for Fred Tugwell Memorial Cup. Competitors will be responsible for their own cards and no sets can be re-issued. Lost cards will only be re-issued at the discretion of the Stats Officer. All cards must be witnessed and dated immediately after shooting. Cards for all competitions may be shot in advance, but will only be accepted if shot and witnessed before the final shooting date posted. All Club Competitions shall be shot on the home range, other than those specified for ranges over 25 yards. The Committee will endeavour to arrange single day "shoots" and shoulder-to-shoulder shoots throughout the year. Details of such shoots will be posted at the earliest possible date. COMPETITIONS. 1 BEDDINGTON TROPHY (Air Pistol) To be awarded annually with a memento. Open to all members and to be shot over 10 rounds at 10 metre distance with each round to be shot on 2 x 6-yard cards (AIR 6/YPS cards), 5 shots on each; with the highest total gun score winning. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 2 STANDARD HANDGUN TROPHY (Air Pistol Handicap) To be awarded annually with a memento. Open to all members with a Club Air Pistol average and to be shot over 10 rounds at 10 metre distance with each round to be shot on 2 x 6-yard cards (AIR 6/YPS cards), 5 shots on each; using the Macrae Handicap system. Highest total average handicap score wins. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 3 FIN HUMPHRIES MEMORIAL TROPHY (Air Rifle) To be awarded annually with a memento. Open to all members shooting any air rifle freestanding with any sights. To be shot over 10 rounds at 10 Metre distance with each round to be shot on 10 metre 5 bull Air 3/89 cards with 2 shots on each bull. With the highest gun score total winning. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 4 CAREW TROPHY (.22 or Full Bore Carbine eligible for the range - Any Sights) To be awarded annually with memento. Open to all members with a club carbine average. Scores shall be nominated before shooting and shall be at least the club average, and declared to the Stats Officer before the cards are issued. The competition will be shot with a carbine of any calibre on 10 PL 12 Cards and scored in accordance with Dees Handicap rules. Inward scoring will apply and shooting will be freestanding. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 5 DUELLING TROPHY (.22 or Full Bore Carbine - Any Sights) 10 shots to be fired on 6 details using a P.A.A (UK) Combat repair strip Centre and Walking Man target backing; on turning targets nights only. Facing time to be fixed at 3 seconds and away time set to 5 seconds. Cards to be shot to be obtained on the shooting nights concerned from the RCO in charge and the shot card signed by the RCO when completed. Shooting dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 6 PLOUGH AWARD (Full Bore Carbine - Any Sights) Awarded annually with a memento. Open to all members and shot over 10 rounds. The competition may be shot with any Fullbore carbine rifle of a calibre suitable for the range. The competition shall be shot free standing. The competition shall consist of the following cards: - 10 x NSRA PL12 cards Deliberate at 25 yards. Inward scoring. In the event of a tie, the result will be decided by Graduated Gauges. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 7 RAPID FIRE CUP (.22 Carbine - Any Sights) Open to members with a Club .22 Carbine average. To be shot with a .22 Carbine rifle using any sights on 6 x PL12 targets with an individual time limit of 20 seconds per card for 10 shots fired, at a distance of 20yds. Shooting dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 8 CARSHALTON CUP (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Awarded annually with memento. Open to all members with a Club average. Competition will be shot over 10 x NSRA 25 10BM 1989 (Deliberate) cards scored by the Macrae system. Ties to be decided by the highest Macrae score on countback. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 9 CERTIFICATE COMPETITIONS (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) a) Daily Mail Won outright annually. Open to all members who do not hold this certificate. To be shot on 6 x NSRA Cadet & Schools targets (5 bull inward scoring). Highest score to win. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 31st October annually. b) Chas R Bell Won outright annually. Open to all members who do not hold this certificate. To be shot on 6 x NSRA Cadet & Schools targets. Highest score to win. Shooting dates between 31st October and the 15th February Annually. 10 COMMEMORATIVE SHIELD (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Awarded annually with a memento. Open to all members and shot over 10 rounds. Competition shall consist of the following cards: - 10 x NSRA 25 10BM 1989 cards Deliberate; and 10 x NSRA 25 10BM 1989 cards Time Limit (90 seconds) In the event of a tie, the result will be decided by, in order: - (a) Total Time-Limit Score, (b) Count back on Time-Limit cards, (c) Graduated Gauges on Time-Limit cards. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 11 DEES CUP (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Awarded annually with memento. Open to all members with a club average, and who have not been the outright winner of an individual competition. To be shot on 10 x NSRA 10BM 1989 cards, and will be scored by the Macrae system. Highest Macrae score to win. Ties to be decided on countback. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th February Annually. 12 FRED TUGWELL MEMORIAL CUP (Juniors .22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Open to all junior members who are under the age of 18 on the day of entry to the competition. Scoring to be by one point for each bull scored over 10 x NRSA 25 10 MB 1989 cards. There is no entry fee for this competition. Shooting Dates between the 1st May and the 15th Feb annually and re-entry will be permitted. 13 JUBILEE CUP (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Awarded annually with memento. Open to all members with a club average. Competition to be run in 3 stages. Round 1. 4 x NSRA 10BM 1989 cards to score 4 points below the competitor's club average. (i.e. for an average of 94, par is 90). A competitor scoring his or her nominated score shall receive 100 points. For each point over or under the nominated score, one point will be deducted. Scores of 392 and over will go through to round 2. Round 2 2 x cards as above Scores of 197 or above will shoot in Round 3 Round 3 2 x cards as above. The winner will be the person with the lowest number of dropped points. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by a 2-card shoot off. In the event of a further tie, the total number of points dropped over all the rounds will decide the winner. In the event of a further tie, 2 more cards will be issued ad infinitum. Shooting Dates Round 1. 1st August - 30th September Round 2. 1st October - 15th December Round 3. 1st January - 15th February Shoot-off - Before the 1st March if required. 14 LADIES BEDDINGTON TROPHY (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Awarded annually with memento. Open to all lady members with a club average. A competitor scoring her nominated score, (this nominated score shall be at least her club average, and should be declared to the Stats. Officer before issue of cards, otherwise it will be her club average), shall receive 100 points. For each point over or under this nominated score, one point will be deducted. The competition shall consist of the following cards: Round 1 - 4 x NSRA 25 10BM 1989 cards. Scores of 388 and above will go through to Round 2. Round 2 - 4 x NSRA 25 10BM 1989 cards. Scores of 395 and above will go through to Round 3. Round 3 - 2 x NSRA 25 10 BM 1989 cards. Highest score wins. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by the total number of points dropped in all rounds. In the event of a further tie, 2 more cards will be issued, ad infinitum. Shooting dates: Round 1. May 1st - September 1st Round 2. October 1st - December 15th Round 3. January 1st - February 15th 15 RAPID TROPHY (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Awarded annually with memento. Open to all members. Shot over 6 x NSRA 25 10BM cards (10 SHOTS in 90 SECONDS). Highest score to win. Ties to be decided as b) and c) Commemorative Shield Rifle. Shooting dates between the 1st May and the 15th February annually. 16 VINYL CUP (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) Awarded annually with memento. Open to all members with a club average. Competition to be run in 3 stages. Scores shall be nominated before shooting and shall be at least the club average, and declared to the Stats. Officer before the cards are issued. A competitor scoring their nominated score shall receive 100 points. For each point over or under this nominated score, one point will be deducted. The competition shall consist of the following cards: Round 1 - 4 x NSRA 10BM 1989 cards. Scores of 392 or over will go through to round 2. Round 2 - 2 x NSRA 10BM 1989 cards. Shooting dates: Round 1. 1st August - 30th September Round 2. 1st November - 15th December Round 3. 1st January - 15th February 17 DEWAR CUP (.22 Prone Small Bore Rifle) To be awarded annually based on the best Dewar score made at a recognised meeting or specially organised club shoot. Entrant is responsible for his score card (issued on payment of entry fee), being filled in with his scores which must be witnessed by another Carshalton Club member or an organising official of the meeting attended. The Dewar Cup can only be shot when shooting for Carshalton Rifle Club.
